Let’s be honest, when we first look at the menu at a restaurant our eyes automatically check out the price of the item whether it’s gonna dent out pocket or not. You might have wondered at least once in your lifetime that how expensive a dish can be. What could be the highest amount that a food item can cost, right? Today I am gonna tell you about some of the most expensive dishes that you can NOT think of. š
1. Diamond Fruitcake
Price: $1.7 Million
Thanks to the 223 diamonds stuck in the cake, the exclusive cake made for the Takashimaya Department Store in Tokyo is priced at $1.72 million. The overall weight of the diamonds is 170 carats, making it the world’s most pricey fruitcake. It took six months for the Diamond Fruitcake to design and a whole month to make. The cake is edible, but it has been suggested by the cook that diamonds are not for eating. Well! Well!
2. Grand Velas Taco
Price: $25000
This taco features Kobe Beef, Almas Beluga Caviar & Black Truffle Brie Cheese, the most expensive dish in the world, and is served on a gold flake-infused corn tortilla. An exotic salsa containing dried Morita chili peppers, Ley.925 ultra-premium aƱejo tequila and topped with civet coffee beans is also served with the taco. The dish is available in Mexico at the new Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort’s Frida restaurant, costing a staggering US$ 25,000.
3. Fortress Stilt Fisherman Indulgence: Dessert
Price: $14000
This dessert is an Italian cassata made with gold leaf and Irish cream and is served by the Wine3 restaurant in The Fortress Resort & Spa, a Sri Lankan luxury hotel. It is served with a mango and pomegranate compote, an enlightening champagne sabayon and most importantly, a stilt fisherman’s chocolate sculpture sitting over an 80-carat aquamarine.
4. The Louis XIII Pizza
Price: $12000
In South Beach by way of Italy, chef Renato Viola has done what he can to assure folks that he’s a very big deal in pizza circles. The master pizza chef and member of the Italian Acrobatic Pizza Team knows his way around various forms of pizza that much of the U.S. just won’t see from Domino’s or Papa John’s. 5. Beluga Almas Caviar

AlmasĀ is a goldenĀ caviarĀ produced from the eggs of a very rare female albino sturgeon between 60 and 100 years old, which swims in the southern Caspian Sea near Iran where apparently less pollution exists. What is more American than a hamburger, as this week’s burger-heavy coverage has proven? How about one that costs $5,000? Fleur de Lys (now simply renamed Fleur) was reopened by Hubert Keller of Top Chef Masters and silver-haired renown in Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay with one such burger on the bill of goods.
7. Pizza Royale 007

In 2007, Pizza Royale 007 was founded to collect funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation, which was set up in developing countries to prevent curable blindness. At a charity auction by lawyer Maurizio Morelli as a Valentine’s Day present for his partner, Sabrina, the pizza was purchased for a whopping Ā£ 2150 (about $2830 in 2019).
8. White Truffle & Gold Pizza

Pizza, one of the world’s most popular meals, is affordable for most of us. But in Valetta, Malta, Margo’s Pizzeria set a world record for the most expensive pizza on the planet. As pizza producer Giovanni Staiano and his manager and restaurant owner Claude Camilleri were experimenting and trying out some truffles, the concept sprouted. The pie has 24-carat gold leaf and mozzarella buffalo and white truffles mounted on a conventional thin crust.
9. Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata

A New York restaurant offers a $1500 omelette, something unique for consumers of expensive tastes. The “Zillion Dollar Frittada”, a Spanish omelet with lobster and 10oz (280g) of caviar, can now be ordered by diners at Norma’s in Le Parker Meridien hotel.
10. Golden Opulence Sundae
Price: $1000
The Golden Opulence Sundae is a sundae that is served by special order at the New York City restaurant Serendipity 3. In 2007 it was listed in Guinness World Records as the most expensive sundae in the world at a price of US$1,000. The restaurant has stated that they sell approximately one per month. It was created to celebrate the eatery’s 50th – “golden” – anniversary in 2005. Owner Stephen Bruce states that a notice 48 hours in advance is needed when requesting the Sundae, since the ingredients must be flown in from different parts of the world. (Wiki)
