Why “Death To America” is Trending on Twitter After Taliban Takes Over Afghanistan? Find Out!
Death To America is trending on Twitter since today morning (17 August, 2021). Already 30 thousand people have tweeted about it. We have heard this slogan several times, but this time it’s trending for a different reason.
We have heard Death To America slogan mostly in Iran and other middle eastern countries because they hate American presence in their soil. But, today Death To America is Trending on Twitter not because of that. The matter is, a woman CNN reporter, apparently wearing Hijab was reporting from Kabul which recently git captured by Taliban.
The CNN reporter said something while reporting the Taliban onslaught which should be considered as really annoying. The woman reporter of CNN apparently said, “They’re just chanting ‘Death to America,’ but they seem friendly at the same time.”
Many people found the above sentence annoying and mockery of the current situation in Afghanistan. Times Read have already shown you many visuals from Afghanistan after Taliban captured Kabul’s president palace. We have seen people swarm US Air Force Plane to escape while two of them died by falling after the plane took off.

The reporter’s comments are outrageous to social media users and people in general. The woman reporter from CNN are being ridiculed on Twitter and other social media. Some people are calling out her comment, while many people are expressing their disagreement via memes.
Here are some of the Tweets people posted showing disagreement with CNN reporter’s statement:
President Joe Biden today said he remains by his choice to pull out US powers from Afghanistan, describing the choice as a decision between pulling out, or returning to battling the Taliban in the battling season.
President Biden says the following in a press briefing today:
“I stand squarely behind my decision,” Biden said in remarks from the White House. “After 20 years, I’ve learned the hard way that there was never a good time to withdraw US forces. That’s why we’re still there.”
“We were clear-eyed about the risks,” he said. “We planned for every contingency. But I always promised the American people that I will be straight with you. The truth is, this did unfold more quickly than we had anticipated.”
“So what’s happened? Afghanistan political leaders gave up and fled the country. The Afghan military collapsed, some without trying to fight. If anything, the developments of the past week reinforced that ending US Military involvement in Afghanistan now was the right decision,” Biden said. “American troops cannot and should not be fighting in a war and dying in a war that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves.”
