Hillsong Church is an evangelical Christian megachurch based in Australia, widely known as Hillsong. Brian Houston and his wife Bobbie founded the church, originally named Hills Christian Life Center, in 1983 in Baulkham Hills, New South Wales. The church, with groups such as Hillsong Praise, Hillsong United and Hillsong Young & Free, is also renowned for its worship songs. Hillsong was a member of the Christian Churches of Australia before splitting from it in 2018 (the Australian branch of the Assemblies of God).
