About Venmo

Venmo displays every peer-to-peer transaction (except the amount) by default, a feature that researchers have found to reveal sensitive information about users’ lives in some circumstances. The corporation reached a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission in 2018 for various privacy and security issues relating to this and other services, and made adjustments to the settings as a result. Venmo, on the other hand, has been chastised for putting users’ privacy at danger.
