Last week, police said, Alexis Robinault, a 26-year-old Instagram influencer with over 30,000 followers, was found dead off a Houston highway.
Robinault’s body was discovered on a strip of road in northwest Houston on Saturday morning. Her body, which had no visible fractures, was found by the Harris County Center of Forensic Sciences, Houston police said in a press statement.
Her autopsy is ongoing, but police said her cause of death is unclear. The murder division of the department is investigating her case.
Robinault, who on Instagram used the name “Alexis Sharkey” posted with her followers images from her travels across Texas and beyond.
Her mother, Stacey, told CNN affiliate KTRK that, days before her body was discovered, she hadn’t spoken to her daughter since Thanksgiving.
As her mother said, Robinault “traveled as much as she could and dreamed of seeing the globe. Robinault was never less than her truest self, despite her modest online followers.
“For her integrity, it was just so obvious that what she had out there was who she was and what she believed in,”For her integrity, it was just so evident that what she had out there was who she was and what she believed in.
The Houston Police Department led CNN to its Twitter page when reached for comment, where police said they would share information on the investigation.
