Pam & Tommy is an American biographical drama miniseries about actress Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, played by Lily James and Sebastian Stan, respectively, at the time when their illicit sex video was made public. The eight-part original limited series, which combines a love story, a criminal caper, and a cautionary tale, investigates the junction of privacy, technology, and celebrity, tracing the beginnings of our contemporary Reality TV Era to a stolen recording watched by millions but intended for only two people.
The miniseries’ production was revealed in 2018, and James Franco was cast to helm and play Lee. Hulu ordered a series in December 2020, with James and Stan cast as Anderson and Lee, respectively, with the latter replacing Franco after his exit from the project.
